Hi Christian!
Thorsten from CrossOver Magazine Germany here. I wanna ask you some things about your new band Wisdom Call.

1. What was the reason for your decision to form a new band that is musically similar to Narnia or Pretty Maids?

The main reason was that I have songs that didn't work out the way I want with Narnia and that I want to have a band with two guitarplayers playing more straight forward metal.

2. Have you got plans to play live with Wisdom Call or is it a studio project only?

I have already done shows in Sweden and Finland and the responses have been great.

3. I saw your first live performance in 1996 at Borderline Festival with Modest Attraction. Why did MA broken up after forming Narnia? I ask you this, because you put two MA-Songs on the WC release ... to stretch the playing time only?

We wanted to go different musically in MA and that is the reason the band split up. With WC I play Time and 15 Years live and that is the reason they are on the album because many people don't know anything about MA.

4. Can you tell me more about the lyrics of WC? Are they in the same evangelistical style like the Narnia lyrics or have they more an allegorical touch?

They have the same kind of lyrics that I write in Narnia. My faith is my main source in Life!

5. Who are the band members of WC? A.J. of Narnia plays the drums ... did you know the band Stormwind before you searched other musicians?

Yes I know the guys in Stormwind. I wanted to have guys that are good players and christian believers so I am pretty satisfied to find these good musicians.

6. Lots of christians today think about Heavy Metal in the same negative way how they did in the 80s. They say, that Metal is a) evil and satanic, b)destroys the society, c) a sin of the youth and the only bands they know are Dio, Judas Priest or Iron Maiden. If you would talk to these people, what is your answer?

Music is a gift from God, it is up to you how you use it. And that is the same with your life. I want to make people happy with good metal music and if some Christians have problems with that it's their problem not mine.

7. The other side is, that many secular magazines and labels don't want to support christian bands. Narnia, for example, have a better promotion through Nuclear Blast. What are the things they must be changed in the future - in your opinion - reaching more secular metal fans with christian Heavy Metal?

The one and only thing is to do great music with good production otherwise you don't pay attention to a bigger market. That is the way Narnia did and of course we have God behind us leading us step by step. The same is for WC.

8. The CD-Cover of WC looks very similarly to the Primal Fear-Covers. Do you agree?

Not at all. My bird is an owl that is a strong symbol for inner wisdom.

9. What was the reason to cover the Europe-Song "Wings of tomorrow"? Grumble, grumble ... I think, the original of Europe was performed better!

It is a matter of taste. The reason I recorded it was that I want to pay my dedication to one of my favorite bands.

10. Final comments to the readers of CrossOver?
