Diese CD ist definitiv nur etwas für die wirklichen, ewigen Fans von Anne Clark. Die Künstlerin liest auf dem Album "Notes Taken, Traces Left" fast zweieinhalb Stunden die Texte ihrer Lieder vor. Nun ja, Erfahrungen hat sie damit, schließlich veröffentlichte sie bereits eine CD, auf der sie Gedichte von Rainer Maria Rilke vortrug. Nur Anne Clark ist eben nicht Rilke ...
Und so ist es auf die Dauer ermüdend, ihren zu Gedichten umfunktionierten Liedern zu lauschen, auch wenn diese selten länger als zwei Minuten sind. Die Idee ist gewiss nicht schlecht, immerhin leben wir in einer Gesellschaft, in der mehr Wert auf die Musik gelegt wird und zu den niveaulosesten Liedern das Tanzbein geschwungen wird, ganz nach dem Motto: Hauptsache die Melodie und der Rhythmus stimmen.
Aber Gedichte sind keine Geschichten, die man sich als Hörbuch stundenlang anhören kann. Ein fehlendes Textbuch erschwert den Zugang zu den Gedichten, auch wenn Anne Clark selber meint: "The meaning of all my texts now become yours as you listen to this audio book." Schön wär's gewesen. Aber die Menge und die fehlende Textvorlage machen eine Bedeutungsfindung nicht gerade einfach.
